Name Change to Active Prospects

Prospect Housing and Support Services has updated its name to make clearer what the organisation does. The charity which has been operating for 26 years is now known as Active Prospects.

Working together with its committee of people being supported, the CEO Maria Mills states

“The new name better reflects our approach to supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health needs and aim for people to lead aspiring lives. We also wanted to use this opportunity to showcase how we transform lives and our new service offers.”

Pat Lynch Chair of the Pro-Active Committee states

“We are excited about helping shape what happens in the future for us and our organisation, and the new name helps capture this.”

Working across Surrey and its borders, Active Prospects is a developing organisation with a wide range of directly provided homes and support and those undertaken in partnership, from independent flats to homes with 24/7 intensive support. It also offers short break services for young people with a learning disability to allow their carers to have a break, tenancy support services for people in partnership with Raven Housing Trust, and also facilitates a pro-active peer-led support network.

A celebration event is currently being planned in early May with special Olympian guests. More to come later.

Group Committee of People We Support Choose New Logo

Text size:

Our Pro-Active Committee – a group of People We Support who are heavily involved with all aspects of the organisation, have a new logo! The Committee picked the logo as they felt it was good to have something colourful, representing the positive nature of the Committee and the use of several people in the logo reflects their wide membership. This will now be put on all correspondence that has had Pro-Active Committee input.

A wonderful time

Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to all our staff and people we support . A massive thank you to all of you that are working over the Christmas period it is very appreciated by the organisation.

Some of the people we support had Christmas away, others met with friends and family, and everyone was supported to do what they wanted to do.  All of this was possible because of the hard work, dedication, and festive spirit of the staff that worked over that period to ensure all of these things happened, so again Thank You!

Christmas Party 2015

This is the beautiful venue that was booked for the Glamour and Glitz Christmas Party on 14 December 2015.  Over 120 people we support and staff came along for an evening of great food, music, dancing and fun.

It was a perfect way to start the seasons celebrations!

Some comments we have received already today...

"It was the best night ever with so many people having a great time."

"Well done for organising such a  great night."

"It was brilliant seeing so many Prospect People together celebrating."

"Really inspiring."

"Everybody looked fantastic and I am sure there are some people with very sore feet today after dancing the night away."

"Hopefully this will be an annual event - we might need a bigger venue though!"

This demonstrates quite clearly how and why we are 'Proud to be Prospect'.

And here is a little snapshot of some of the fun everyone had on the night...

We are looking forward to the 2016 party now!

Making a Difference

The Pro-Active Committee meeting on the 08 December looked at planning for the 2016 Annual Plan, and Prospect’s Values – this was a very vibrant and inclusive meeting, with some fantastic ideas as usual!

Everyone is really looking forward to the Christmas Glitz and Glamour event on the 14 December, and we have over 100 people coming.

This is a really exciting time to be involved in shaping the committee and the wider organisation - employees and the people we support who attend really do make a difference.
