Name Change to Active Prospects

Prospect Housing and Support Services has updated its name to make clearer what the organisation does. The charity which has been operating for 26 years is now known as Active Prospects.

Working together with its committee of people being supported, the CEO Maria Mills states

“The new name better reflects our approach to supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health needs and aim for people to lead aspiring lives. We also wanted to use this opportunity to showcase how we transform lives and our new service offers.”

Pat Lynch Chair of the Pro-Active Committee states

“We are excited about helping shape what happens in the future for us and our organisation, and the new name helps capture this.”

Working across Surrey and its borders, Active Prospects is a developing organisation with a wide range of directly provided homes and support and those undertaken in partnership, from independent flats to homes with 24/7 intensive support. It also offers short break services for young people with a learning disability to allow their carers to have a break, tenancy support services for people in partnership with Raven Housing Trust, and also facilitates a pro-active peer-led support network.

A celebration event is currently being planned in early May with special Olympian guests. More to come later.
